Artist Spotlight: ‘Young Apex’
New Rochelle’s Jaison Mazariegos is the next breakout artist in today’s Hip Hop. Equipped with all the essentials to claim the top spot, the 26-year-old prepares his takeover with his single ‘Beast Mode’ currently lead by the up and coming release of his new single, titled, “Drip” featuring Yaboibron a Bronx, Ny native. Apex released the visual to ‘Beast Mode’ on YouTube, January 26, 2020.
The New Rochelle artist stated “Music is my passion. I was born in America but raised in Colombia . I have a speech impediment and along with Spanish being my primary language I struggled a lot with articulating myself in general and through music. I use to have a fear of performing due to my ‘disability’ which I call my gift, until I met an artist named Yaboibron from Bronx, New York. Yaboibron encouraged me to continue to pursue my dreams and verbally inducted me to his label We-The-West in 2017.”
Other artists that inspire Apex to pursue music were Lil Wayne, Daddy Yankee, Tyga, 50 cent, The Game.
Young Apex has worked with the Bronx artist Yaboibron who took him under his wing knowing that Mazariegos was “gifted” through speech, he gave much respect.
Apex released a new single that is available on all streaming platforms called “BIG” featuring DOGGIKRAZY, who also encourages Apex to continue persuing his dreams.
Mazariegos also stated “I want to inspire people with gifts like myself to pursue their dreams regardless of what the unkind part of society may think. You can find videos of me speaking about this topic on my YouTube channel called, Young Apex. Have I heard bad critics? Of course it comes with the territory and especially when having unavoidable barriers, I have tunnel vision. I’m aiming straight to the top, no looking back.”
